WORKSHOP: Improve your English through TV series 9/5/2013
A workshop destined to improve oral comprehension, to learn the ways and nuances of today’s English language, to incorporate vocabulary, and to enjoy a genre that led somewhere a critic to affirm: "If Shakespeare lived today, he would write for HBO".
The first two cycles will cover 3 episodes of the first season of some of the best series of these times, such as Web Therapy, Mad Men, How I Met your Mother, or Homeland. In the manner of the first fictions in cinema and as it happens in many current series implicitly, our workshop will culminate with the phrase: to be continued...
Teachers
Eduardo Reneboldi is an English translator and teacher. He runs Estudio Buenos Aires, Ebatrust, an English training center for companies. As a translator he has vast experience, including scientific books published in the UK. As part of his teaching assignment, he develops specialized workshops on professional writing for business, communication, and presentations.
Laura Fryd is an English teacher and translator. She teaches English language and grammar and coordinates conversation groups in English about contemporary literary works. She has specialized in the translation of academic texts in various disciplines and has translated important authors such as James Joyce and Samuel Beckett.
