Debate with the candidate for President of Chile
We are glad to host a meeting in which a few of us will be able to talk with the Chilean presidential candidate, Marco Enríquez Ominami, on various current issues such as electoral debates, progressivism in the region, development, inequality and sustainability.
Marco Enríquez Ominami is currently President of the Progresa Foundation, and leader and founder of the Progressist Party of Chile. Between 1990 and 2009 he was a member of the Socialist Party, for which he was elected deputy (from 2006 to 2010). In 2005, he organized the presidential debate with the four candidates for the 2005-2006 Chilean presidential elections. He was an independent candidate for Presidency in 2009 and for the Progressist Party (which he founded in 2010) in 2013. He has published several books, including "If you want, Chile changes" (2013) in which he describes the proposals for a government program that is both progressist and supportive.
